Bob Switzer

Director of Western National Bank


Mr. Bob Switzer joined Western National Bank in January of 1985 in conjunction with the Wood family acquiring controlling interest of the bank.  Since that time, Mr. Switzer has seen the bank grow over 15 times in assets from when he arrived. Mr. Switzer is in his 40th year of banking, having started his career in the Trust Department of First National Bank of Odessa in 1967.  In 1974, Mr. Switzer joined National Bank of Odessa as Vice President and Senior Trust Officer.  In 1978, Mr. Switzer was promoted to President and Senior Trust Officer and Director of NBO, with commercial lending as the primary focus of his duties.  Mr. Switzer graduated with honors from Texas Tech in 1962 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with emphasis on finance and subsequently graduated in 1965 from the University of Texas with a doctor of jurisprudence degree.  He had previously served in active reserves in the U. S. Army and then went on active duty in April of 1965 and was discharged with the rank of Captain in 1967.  With his lengthy career in banking, Mr. Switzer brings valuable experience to Western National Bank.
