Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

Health Savings Account (HSA) is an account that you can put money into to save for future medical expenses.  There are certain advantages to putting money into these accounts, including favorable tax treatment.

You can use the money in the account to pay for any “qualified medical expense” permitted under federal tax law.  This includes most medical care and services, dental, vision, and prescription drugs.

Unlike a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), the balance of an HSA is portable.  This means that the money in your Health Savings Account is retained, even if you leave your current employment.

Information in regard to HSA qualified plans and "qualified medical expenses" may be obtained from the IRS.

Western National Bank is located in Central and West Texas. Contact a Western National Bank Branch and find out more about the Health Savings Account.
